hey. this is my reply to jian sheng's post about cai yifei stuff.
firstly, if cai yi fei were to be dismissed or sacked, he should reflect on himself, why he deserved to be sacked. & i'm not asking for him to be sacked, i'm just asking for ihm to make a chnage in his attitude so that at least we won't fail chinese.
look, asking US to read his pathetic handwriting is already one thing. BUT, why can't he change his own handwriting?! isit that difficult? NO IT ISN'T. just because he will write slower( only by a few milli-seconds nia) , he is disencouraging us to learn as we seriously can't read his handwriting., & thus will not take notes.
&& he doesn't explain anything clearly. his explanantions are really vague. & he talks too fast.
another thing to point out; do your rmb that time when he asked nicholas to write the hanyupinyin? yes, when nicholas asked him about the "ting"(listen) word, cyf(cai yi fei) went, " none of your business" in chinese of course. isn't that insulting?
the other thing i noticed during THAT lesson. he always goes; " because of time constrain blahblahblah, " and he just grabs the marker, not giving a hoot. is TIME so important? NO it isn't, compared to the number of things we learnt during chinese lesson( which is 0)
yes, there's this other incident. which i heard form krystal who heard from her friend in 201. see, they were hosting the china guests. CYF is their co-form. so when the form teacher asks CFY to pick some emcee o sth, CYF goes, " they arh. so lousy. cannot lah" it's something like that. isn't that really demoralising?!
just because OUR chinese isn't so good, does he have to voice it out? & so what? we are in the midst of learning you know. not like him. he's from the land of chinese. we learn 3 languages ( eng, chinese & a bit of malay, & some ppl learn japanese too). he learns ONE: chinese. so is he being fair by criticising us? NO. is his english or malay SUPERB? NO. i think our english would be better than his.
so is all THIS fair to us? i doubt so.
the thing is, he, being the teacher, shouldn't he change his habits to help us in our studies? e.g. his handwriting it's not that difficult. he could write slower. WE write so slow, but i don't see us dying. writing slowly won't kill him. it's just a matter of whether he really wants us to learn.
he should: 1) write slower so that our eyeballs wouldn't come out of their sockets. 2) change his attitude & respect us yeah? 3) explain more specifically 4) spend more TiME. i know time is money, but please luh, time spent for a good cause of studying wont cost much. 5) bond more with the class. because he doesn't seem to feel anything. he just yaks yaks yaks on and on. 6) he sould ask US what words we dont know and at least go through the passage with us so that we can clear up any misunderstandings. 7) maybe he should write EVERYTHING down. we need spoonfeeding sometimes. we don't have a recorder in our ears that we can record everything he says.
okay. really, i'm not hating him or anything. but the vibe he gives out just really isn't nice at all. gosh. peeps, think about it.
